Engineering

Welcome!

To give you a taste of what’s to come in September, we have set you tasks from two units of the Level 3 BTEC Engineering course you will be studying.

Unit 1 Engineering Principles: Mathematics

These maths tasks that will help you brush up the skills and topics you need to know from GCSE Mathematics to be able to cope with the level of mathematics involved in Unit 1 Engineering Principles of. If you have studied at Higher Tier GCSE Mathematics this should all be revision. If you have studied at Foundation Tier some of this content may be new for you but it will be worth spending the time to try and get your heads around it now so that you will find it a little easier in September.

Unit 10 CAD Design & Modelling using a software package called Fusion 360

These online YouTube tutorials will provide you with an insight into Fusion 360, the tools, commands and the possibilities of what Fusion 360 is capable of. In Unit 10, you will produce a portfolio of over 50 drawings both 2d Orthographic, 3d Isometric with sectional/detailed views. You will be expected to disassemble and reassemble products in order to gain measurements of individual components and parts with precision using engineering tools.

Good luck and enjoy J Miss Hyde and Miss Goodall
