General Information (Useful Information for Parents)

AQA English Literature GCSE is studied by all pupils. Below, resources are listed to assist pupils with their revision of this course.

Pupils must log in with their username as their usual computer login followed by @st-georgescofe-thanet.kent.sch.uk (e.g. JSmith123@st-georgescofe-thanet.kent.sch.uk) and their usual password they use to log on to school laptops.

Paper 1 - Macbeth

This section of the paper has an extract from the text and one question to answer for 30 marks. There are a possible 4 marks awarded on top of this for spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Paper 2 - An Inspector Calls

This section of the paper has no extract from the text. There is a choice of two questions, each worth 30 marks. Pupils must choose one to answer.

Paper 2 - Power and Conflict Poetry

This section of the paper includes one of the 15 poems reprinted in full. The question requires the pupil to compare this poem to another poem from the 15 which must be remembered. This question is out of 30 marks.

Paper 2 - Unseen Poetry

This section includes two poems which have not been taught in class. One 24 mark question asks the pupils to analyse the first poem. A second 8 mark question asks pupils to compare the methods in this first unseen poem with the second unseen poem.
