It was once again evident this year that a number of pupils joined St Georges Church of England Foundation School considerably below the expected standard in Reading and Numeracy. It is pleasing that these pupils have made steady progress throughout Year 7 and they will continue to receive support into Year 8.

Lockdown - due to pupils on the Numeracy and Reading intervention programmes receiving 3 terms of support rather than the intended full year, our programme will continue into year 8. Pupils were supported during the lockdown period through home learning resources. Schemes of work and homework tasks have been adapted for year 8 to ensure any gaps in knowledge are filled. Pupils will be retested when appropriate.

The DfE has confirmed that as this grant was discontinued in September 2020.
