Introduction to the Maths Faculty:

The Mathematics Faculty is housed in its own block. There are eight purpose built classrooms of which four of them are equipped with Interactive White Boards. The faculty teaches the Framework in Key Stage 3 and the Modular GCSE courses for the AQA at Key Stage 4. More able students also work towards the AQA GCSE Statistics in Year 10.

To make mathematics real and interesting, the faculty use Maths Alive and Boardworks as well as all sorts of investigative, practical, problem solving and thinking skills and interactive packages.

• Financial capability - at the end of each term for all KS3 students
• Enterprise activities - Bridge building - Year 8 summer term, The Paper Bag Game - Year 7 summer term
• Future Planned activities - Year 9 Mathematical enterprise day
