House Charity:

Special Care Baby Unit, QEQM Hospital, Margate.- Money raised to date: £600.00.

Students have undertaken various activities such as cake sales, sponsored events and even paying to wear non-uniform in order to raise money for this special project. This is the third year Canterbury House have supported this venture and last year the unit was presented with a cheque for £256.00.

Ice RinkHouse Trips:

Each year we strive to offer a House trip as a means of celebrating success and encouraging integration and co-operation between students. Often these trips act as an incentive for good behaviour and sound effort throughout the year. The most popular venue for these trips seems to be Gillingham ice-rink. The students can enjoy a relatively cheap evening’s entertainment, whilst having a laugh at the House staff’s attempts to remain on their feet!

This year (2007) Canterbury house had a trip to Thorpe Park and, despite wet weather, everyone enjoyed themselves and the trip was a success.

Achievements:

The students work hard to attain House points for effort and work done in class, and at the end of each term they undertake House Activities (generally sporting). All these contribute points to the House Challenge Cup. A tremendous effort from students resulted in Canterbury winning the cup in 2006. Well done to all!

Canterbury is generally a happy House with a supportive group of prefects who are respected by both staff and students alike.
