Bienvenue à St. George’s

On 29th April 45 of our Year 9 and 10 students who study French hosted a school group From Collège Marcel Pagnol in Gravigny, Normandy. They stayed in London for two nights and stopped off in Broadstairs on their way back to the ferry in Dover. Our students had the opportunity to practice their French language skills with their peers from France and after some initial nerves, everyone relaxed and started to feel more confident in their ability, with some students now feeling extra motivated to improve their French so they can stay in touch with the new French friends they have made. Our guests also very kindly shared some of their local delicacies with our students such as ‘Sablé’ biscuits and macaroons. All of our students exchanged posters about themselves in each other’s languages which will soon be on display in both of our schools. Our students thoroughly enjoyed this event whilst learning a lot about how to improve their speaking skills, we hope to continue this link with Collège Marcel Pagnol and plan more events in the next academic year.
