League Table Letter
03rd February 2016
A number of you have contacted the school this week following the publication of the "School League Tables" where it states St George's is 12% : this is NOT correct and is based on first entry and not best entry. Our students achieved 52% in Maths and English and 50% 5A*-C including Maths and English making us one of the top performing high schools in Kent. I refer you to the letter I sent to you before Christmas which explains in more detail and is available below.
Interestingly, only this week the Head of the private school Wellington College has called this year's League Tables a nonsense and states they will withdraw from League Tables next year, along with other heads of private schools. We do not have the luxury of withdrawing in the State Sector but I will always put your child, our students, first.
Next year will be a completely different story as the League Tables will represent a different measurement, that of Progress, and one that will favour St George's. In the meantime, please be assured we will endeavour to always do our best for your child.
Thank you for your continued support
