Key Stage 1 C-System

When a child goes onto the red what happens?

Teacher / TA

  • Explains why they have been given a Putting it Right Card and pupils to reflect on how they can do this
  • If they are given a Putting it Right Card again, they sit on a  chair next to teacher
  • On the third occasion in the same day, go to a member of Primary Leadership - parents to be informed
  • Regularly finding themselves being given a Putting it Right Card, consequence decided by Primary leadership - parents to be informed and a meeting held if required

Year 3 C-System

C1 – If the child has to be spoken to by the class teacher and parents informed

C2 – 10 minute lunch detention (Behaviour Log and parents informed) 

Years 4-6 C-System

C1 – If the child has to be spoken to by the class teacher and parents informed

C2 – 10 minute lunch detention (B Log and parents informed)

C3 – After school detention (B log and parents informed)

C4 – Meeting with a member of Primary Leadership following after school detentions

C5 – After meeting if behaviour continues ½ day internal isolation with a member of Primary Leadership - parents to be informed

 

How the system works -

When will a C1 be issued?

  • When a child is spoken to, spent time out , and behaviour hasn’t changed

When will a C2 be issued?

  • Child has been spoken to, given 5 minutes outside and still has not changed behaviour. Parents informed

When will a C3 be issued?

  • 3 lunchtime detentions in a week triggers after school 30 minutes detention, issued by leadership, and led by leadership. 

5 minutes outside the classroom

  • Continual talking
  • Being unkind to another pupil
  • Shouting out
  • Being rude to an adult

10 minutes lunchtime detention

  • If you continue any of the above
  • Unkind at lunchtime
  • Misusing or damaging equipment at lunchtime
  • Fighting

After school detention

  • 3 lunchtime detentions in a week
  • Serious behaviour incident
