World Book Day
This Thursday, 1st March is WORLD BOOK DAY.
All week we are running events such as quizzes and a readathon. Also, look out for Favourite Book posters and of course the staff will have the opportunity to dress up as some of their favourite characters. We look forward to seeing how our Primary pupils take up the challenge!
From Mr Mirams
I am writing to remind you that on Thursday, 1st March 2018 we will be celebrating as a whole school World Book Day. We will be combining the event with our annual Readathon, as well as taking an opportunity to raise money for a wide range of charities determined by our Year Charities and Primary School.
Over the last year the school has raised significant amounts for different causes as well as taking an active part in the local community. We are happy that World Book Day will also result in enthusing more people to read.
At the Primary both staff and children will be dressing up as book characters, while at Secondary over one hundred staff will spend the day in their own book character costumes. If anyone feels that they would like to sponsor staff and donate towards our Charities we will be collecting throughout the event.
I make no apologies for turning St George’s into a Book Character Resort for the day in celebration of World Book Day. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your continued support and hope that we can make a huge difference to the lives of those that are needing support through our Charities.
Hopefully, we can make a difference together and put a smile on people’s faces for a day.
