APPLYING FOR PLACES - SEPTEMBER 2019

The applications process for September 2019 has now closed, please contact the school for advice.

APPLYING FOR PLACES - SEPTEMBER 2020

To apply for a place for Year R and Year 7 you will need to complete the School's Supplementary Form and return to Admissions at the school.  You will also need to complete the online Common Application Form (CAF), which can be found at www.kent.gov.uk

Supplementary Forms can be downloaded from the website or collected from the school from 30th September for Year 7 and 1st November for Year R.

YEAR R:  
Deadline for online CAF to be completed:  15th January 2020
Deadline for School Supplementary Form to be completed and returned to the school 17th January 2020

Year R supplementary Form - Available from 1st November

 

YEAR 7:  
Deadline for online CAF to be completed:          31st October 2019
Deadline for School Supplementary Form to be completed and returned to the school 8th November 2019

 Year 7 supplementary Form - Available from 30th September 

 

SIXTH FORM:

You can apply for a Sixth Form place after 1st November.  To apply for a Sixth Form place you need to go through the Kent Choices website - www.ucasprogress.com/search.  You will receive log in information in November.  If you have not received this information please speak to your careers advisor at your current school.

APPEALS

Parents have a statutory right of appeal, should an application be refused, by writing to The Clerk to the Governors, Admissions, St George’s Church of England Foundation School, Westwood Road, Broadstairs, Kent, CT10 2LH, Tel No:   01843 861696

 

SEPTEMBER 2019 ENTRY APPEAL TIMELINE:

Appeals as a result of standard admission applications will be heard according to the following timetable:

  • Offer
  • Appeals deadline
  • Appeals to be heard by
Primary
Offer – 16th April 2019
Appeals Deadline – 21st May 2019
Appeals heard by – end of Term 6

 

SECONDARY
Offer – 1st March 2019
Appeals Deadline – 29th March 2019
Appeals heard by – June 2019 (to be confirmed)

Appeals lodged after the appeals deadline will be heard within 40 school days of the appeals deadline or 30 school days of being lodged, whichever is the later date.

IN YEAR OR IMMEDIATE ENTRY APPEALS:

Appeals resulting from in-year admission applications will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged. Appellants will be sent notification of their appeal hearing together with a copy of the school’s case 10 clear school days in advance of the hearing. If an appellant wishes to submit further evidence which was not included with their initial appeal, they must make sure that it is received at least 5 clear school days prior to the hearing date.
