Breakfast Club, Extended Day and Clubs

BREAKFAST CLUB:

St George’s Primary School Breakfast Club aims to provide pupils of all ages with a safe and fun place to start their school day.  Breakfast Club is open to all pupils and we will do our best to accommodate the needs of your child.

The club will provide a variety of activities including reading, free play on the MUGA, board games and Daily Mile type running.  Our breakfast club monitors will assist with these activities.  Each morning children will do a Wake Up and Shake Up activity led by our Breakfast Club Monitors, followed by a breakfast and the children will be encouraged to choose their food, sit down, talk together and then clear up their dishes.

The club will run from 7.45am - 8.30am every weekday during term time.  Your child is expected to arrive promptly and if they arrive too late, they will need to wait until the gates open for the whole school at 8.30am.

We provide a healthy breakfast and we encourage all children to eat and drink something.
Every day we offer:

  • A choice of at least 3 different cereals.
  • Fruit yoghurt
  • Fruit juice, milk (soya available on request) and water.

Twice a week we offer toast and a selection of spreads as an alternative to cereal.  On a Friday the children are offered chocolate chip brioche buns.

Where possible, we will cater for any special diets but you must make us aware.

The cost of the club is £2.50 per day, per child.  The cost does not change depending on the time you arrive or if you choose not to have breakfast with us.

Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis and all bookings and payments must be made on the School ParentPay App.  Payment is required at the time of booking.

EXTENDED DAY:

At St George’s Primary School we offer a range of extended day activities and clubs which vary from term to term.  The clubs aim to provide the opportunity for your children to further their skills in the activity undertaken and if it is a team club, ultimately to represent the school at sporting events.  All the clubs are run by school staff or external bodies that strive to uphold our Christian values and work to develop your child’s self-confidence.  Children will receive a drink and a biscuit before undertaking the chosen activity.

Sessions run from 3.00pm until 4.15pm if it is a sporting/ team club and from 3.00pm until 4.30pm if it is extended day.  Sessions should be booked via ParentPay and parents will be informed of the options for each term.
