Uniformed Protective Services (Level 3)
.
SUBJECT VISION
Adventurous - The BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Uniformed Protective Services shows adventure to students by combining classroom learning with practical, outdoor and physically demanding activities. The course is designed to prepare students for careers in the police, fire service, armed forces, ambulance service, prison service, and other emergency services, so it includes experiences that feel active and challenging rather than purely academic.
Challenging – The course is designed to develop discipline, resilience, leadership, and decision-making skills. Students will complete group tasks and leadership exercises where they will communicate effectively, solve problems quickly, and support others during stressful situations.
Resilience – Students will learn to take part in emergency simulations and timed team activities require students to stay calm and focused during stressful situations. Group tasks help students develop patience, cooperation, and the ability to support others when challenges arise
Curiosity - students will have the opportunity to investigate roles in the police, military, prison service, fire and rescue, border force, and emergency planning. Students will also have the opportunity to explore topics such as government policies, leadership styles, conflict management, and public safety.
Independence- The course helps students become more independent by developing responsibility, confidence, and decision-making skills.
Community- The course encourages respect, responsibility, equality, and helping others
