Secondary Pupil Voice

Our Pupil Voice is made up of representatives from each year group from 7 to 10, our Year 11 Executive Team and 6th Formers.

Pupils in years 7 to 10 can apply to become representatives and they are then voted for by their peers.  We have two representatives from each year group.

The team meet with Mr Morgan, Assistant Head regularly and the minutes are shared with all staff and with pupils by their form tutors. The most recent minutes are also posted on the Pupil Voice noticeboard in the Heart.

In 2024/5, some of the team have regularly visited Broadstairs Town Council to meet with other pupils in the Broadstairs Youth Forum, speaking about issues and opportunities for young people in Broadstairs.

In 2023, the team met with members of the Sustrans charity (sustrans.org.uk) on a numbern of occasions to help in the creation of a local transport plan in the are near the school. Pupils provided many ideas on how our roads can be made safer and more inviting more pedestrians and cyclists.  This included a group of pupils speaking at Thanet District Council chambers about their work with Sustrans, to look at how the council can develop a Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan in the future.

We are looking at including ideas about Climate Change and Sustainability as part of our Pupil Voice Team.
