Why Choose Us?
Please see the sections below :

We offer a school based, small Sixth Form experience where every pupil is nurtured and supported through this tricky time of entering adulthood. A lot of change happens for pupils during the ages of 16-18; most of these changes are exciting things that involve more freedom and responsibility like learning to drive and gaining part-time employment. However, some change can feel overwhelming and pupils struggle with the extra freedom. Our clearly structured Sixth Form experience gives pupils the routines they need to give themselves the best chance of thriving with more freedom rather than feeling overwhelmed by it. We make sure the Sixth Form experience isn’t purely focused on their studies but also enables pupils to gather the information and experiences needed to maintain good wellbeing, a positive outlook and enter a meaningful career in an area of interest for them.
Destinations
Pupils leave our Sixth Form to go into the world of work, apprenticeships, traineeships and university. Many of our students have gone on to apprenticeships, many of them local. Examples include Kent Police, Landscaping, Meades Accounting, TSC Sports Coaching. Below are where our students have gone to university over the last two years - these tend to be much further afield:

Football Academy

Our Sixth Form Football Academy is provided by TSC and runs as an extra opportunity alongside the curriculum we offer in school. Taking part in the Football Academy involves two training sessions per week and a match within the league; these never clash with subject lessons so that the teaching we are providing in Sixth Form is not compromised.
There are two squads that our pupils may be invited to join: the elite squad that runs out of Ramsgate FCs ground or the school squad. There are often training sessions where both squads work together and participation in each squad for matches is changeable. This experience gives the footballers an opportunity to work within a team to strive for a positive outcome within each training session, match and also league table.

Community

There are many opportunities throughout the two year programme of Sixth Form that allow pupils to support people within our school and wider community. We have a Community Week held in July of each year where Sixth Form pupils have taken part in a variety of experiences. In 2025 these included:
- a charity staff car wash
- joining the Stem Cell register through the Anthony Nolan charity
- meeting St George’s alumni to find out what they are doing in their lives and careers since leaving the school
- a talk from Kent County Council on road safety as both a driver and passenger
- attending an in-school careers fair where they met local employers
- a Personal Statement Workshop from one of our local universities
- wellbeing sessions including mindfulness colouring and breathing exercises
- an introduction to sign language
- a training session of delivering CPR and using a defibrillator
- an apprenticeship workshop where they were shown how to set up alerts of new opportunities
- end of year celebrations including a BBQ and sports activities
- a talk from a parent of an ex-pupil involved in a car crash that was filmed by the BBC
Our Sixth Form charity is chosen by the pupils each year. It is currently the Down Syndrome Development Trust.
Year 12 Work Experience
This year, Work Experience for our Year 12s is from 19th to 23rd January 2026.
Unlike year 10, year 12 are expected to organise their own Work Experience placement. Personal Development lessons will be used to help get this sorted and uploaded to pupils' individual UNIFROG accounts.

RE and Collective Worship
A Church of England Sixth Form

Our five Christian values of compassion, forgiveness, friendship, hope and wisdom, underpin all that we do at the School. Throughout the curriculum and through worship pupils encounter and consider these values and the impact on their learning and lives.
At lunchtime, a member of the clergy is often available in The Heart, or one of the other lunchtime venues, on a rota throughout the term. Prayer is available for pupils, staff or families through the clergy.
Throughout the year, all 6th Form pupils will have a termly timetabled Religion lesson within their Personal Development rotation, which will focus on issues of Social Justice and Religion – building on resources from the AQA GCSE specification. These will reflect relevant issues in society and around the world and provide an opportunity for discussion, exploration of religious views and personal reflection. In addition, we aim to hold enrichment activities throughout the year to complement the RE provision for pupils in our Sixth Form, such as visiting speakers or other activities.
We also offer RE as an A level course. Information can be found on the Courses page.
