Almost every member of year 11 has now had the chance to log in to their Kent Choices page. This is the portal which allows them to apply for interviews for sixth forms, colleges and everything else post-16 education.  Their username has been set so that it is the same as their school login.  They have a password which we can reset if necessary.

 

Applying for post-16 courses is the responsibility of the pupils and their parents. We will try to offer help and support where we can, but we have tried to stress to Year 11 that for the next year or so, pupils should treat their Kent Choices account with the same regularity and interest as their Instagram, Snapchat or TikTok!

It is important that your child has completed the sections inside – especially their Personal Statement. When they apply for courses in sixth forms or at college, it is these that the establishments will read before deciding whether to offer an interview or a place.  This page on our website https://www.stgeorges-school.org.uk/3462/year-11-careers-post-16-options gives some advice and examples of Personal Statements.

 

Regarding Qualifications, pupils will need to add the subjects that they have already done, with grade. This should be listed as ACTUAL, with the exam sat in year 9 dated as 07/25, and those in year 10 as 07/26.  The subjects being studied this year should have a grade, listed as PREDICTED, with date as 07/27.  The grade listed as their predicted grade should be the Target Grade that is on their exercise book.
