25/06/2026Non-Uniform - FRIDAY 26TH JUNE
Dear Families,
Firstly, I would like to thank you for your support and understanding over the last few days as we have managed the exceptionally warm weather.
As communicated previously, we have continued to monitor conditions carefully throughout the school day. Yesterday, we allowed pupils to remove their ties and undo their top buttons, and we will do so again today should temperatures require it. We have also purchased additional fans for classrooms to further support comfortable learning environments across the school.
The recent weather has also prompted us to review our arrangements for the future. We are now exploring a redesign of our PE tops to ensure they are made from a lighter, more breathable material in preparation for the likelihood of similar temperatures next summer.
Having reviewed the latest forecasts, it now appears that local temperatures tomorrow could exceed 30°C. In light of this, we have decided to hold an impromptu non-uniform day on Friday 26th June to allow pupils to dress as comfortably as possible for the conditions. Not wishing to miss an opportunity to support a good cause, we would ask for the usual £1 charitable donation. Donations can be made via ParentPay or brought into school in cash tomorrow.
We would still encourage all pupils to bring plenty of water with them and make sure they have applied plenty of suncream and reassure you that we will continue to monitor temperatures closely and take any further actions necessary to safeguard the wellbeing of our pupils and staff.
Thank you once again for your continued support.
Yours faithfully,
Danielle Jenkins
Interim Headteacher
