29/06/2026Secondary Transition Day - Thursday 2nd July
Year 6 children joining our Secondary are invited to attend the Transition Day on Thursday, 2nd July 2026.
It is expected that they will attend the session wearing their current school uniform.
Each child will need to bring:
• A reading book
• A pen
• A pencil
• A rubber
• A packed lunch or £2.50 in cash for a school grab bag (sandwich, fruit, biscuit and drink)
We request that year 6 pupils arrive no later than 8.50 am to allow a prompt start to the day, which begins at 9.00am. Children will be welcomed into the school building by our staff, and will then be escorted to the Drama Room.
Parents are welcome to walk their children onto the school site, but they will not be allowed to enter the building with them. We would encourage parents to say goodbye outside the school gates so that staff can then facilitate the building of friendships during this Transition Phase.
Activities will finish at 2.35pm; year 6 will be dismissed by the Student Community Entrance. We ask that parents ensure arrangements are in place for their safe return home. Please do not enter the school site prior to 2.40pm to allow Year 7 to 11 to leave safely. During the Transition Day parents are welcome to wait for children on the paved area within school grounds, however, from September parents will need to wait outside the school gates.
