Headteacher's Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to St George’s Church of England Foundation School.

We are very proud of our school community, our history and the Christian traditions that lay at our foundation. We are committed to all who are educated, work here or who over time have been connected to our school.  At St. George's we have a unique opportunity to develop children from the age of 4 to 19 in a caring environment that puts the individual first.

We encourage all members of our school community to have tolerance and respect for each other, whatever their beliefs.  However, we base our ethos on our Christian and Family Values of:

  • Compassion
  • Friendship
  • Hope
  • Forgiveness
  • Wisdom

At St George’s, we believe that our academic curriculum and strong pastoral care ensure that:

"Every moment, every day, every individual counts"

We know that this is a very challenging vision and we dedicate ourselves to the pursuit of achieving this on a daily basis. The school has for many years made a difference to young people and we continue to do so during challenging times.  The staff are all committed to providing the best possible opportunities to every child in our care from Infants to Sixth Form and it makes me immensely proud to be the person who is given the honour of leading such an exciting school.

We may not always get it right but we do hold dear the idea of team work and dedication to do our best together on a daily basis.

"For the body does not consist of one member but of many."

1 Corinthians 12:14

God bless you,
