Headteacher's Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to St George’s Church of England Foundation School.

As Interim Headteacher, it is a privilege to be part of a school community with such a proud history and strong Christian foundation. St George’s has long been a place where young people are known, valued and encouraged to flourish. I am honoured to support the continuation of this important work alongside our dedicated staff, governors, families and wider community.

At the heart of St George’s is a commitment to nurturing the whole person. Our unique all-through structure enables us to walk alongside children and young people from the age of 4 to 19, supporting them as they grow academically, socially and spiritually within a caring and inclusive environment where every individual is valued.

We warmly welcome people of all backgrounds and beliefs and encourage everyone in our community to show tolerance, respect and understanding for one another. Our ethos is rooted in our Christian and family values of:

Compassion
Friendship
Hope
Forgiveness
Wisdom

These values shape our relationships, guide our decisions and underpin the life of our school community.

At St George’s, we believe that a rich and ambitious curriculum, alongside strong pastoral care, enables every child and young person to grow in confidence, character and aspiration. Our vision is captured in the belief that:

“Every moment, every day, every individual counts.”

This reflects our commitment to ensuring that each member of our community is known, supported and given the opportunity to thrive. We recognise that education is about far more than academic success; it is about enabling young people to develop the wisdom, resilience and compassion they need to make a positive difference in the world.

The staff at St George’s are deeply committed to providing the best possible opportunities for every pupil from Infants through to Sixth Form. It is a privilege to work alongside such dedicated colleagues and to help lead a community that cares deeply about the wellbeing and success of its young people.

Like all communities, we continue to learn and grow together. We value teamwork, humility and a shared commitment to doing our best for one another each day.

As we are reminded in scripture:

“For the body does not consist of one member but of many.”
1 Corinthians 12:14

This reminds us that each person has an important role to play. By working together in a spirit of service and mutual respect, we strengthen our community and ensure that every member of St George’s is able to flourish.
